TIE PREVIEW
Bjorn Borg defeated Ilie Nastase for the loss of just 3 games to seal victory for Sweden in the two nations' only previous Davis Cup tie in 1979 in Bucharest.

Both nations lost in the first round of this year's World Group. Sweden falling to a 3-2 defeat in an epic tie against Israel, while Romania suffered its 6th first round loss in 7 years at home to Russia.

Sweden shares the record for most World Group appearances with Czech Republic and USA, having been absent from the elite division just once in its 29-year existence.

Romania has survived its last 5 World Group play-offs and is looking to extend its stay in the World Group to an 8th year.
